Terms of use
Last updated 4 September 2026.
Agreement
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. The site is operated by DecoySignal, LLC.
This is education, not advice
Everything on this site and in our content is general consumer education. It is not legal advice, not financial advice, not tax advice, and not a substitute for any of them. We are not your lawyer, your financial adviser, or your bank.
Scam tactics change constantly, and what is accurate when published may not be accurate later. Always verify anything urgent directly with the institution involved, using contact details you look up yourself, never details supplied in a message you did not expect.
If you have lost money, the right first call depends on how it left your hands — find your situation here.
No recovery services
We do not recover money. We do not offer, endorse or partner with any recovery service. So anyone contacting you who claims to be DecoySignal and offers to recover your funds is not acting for us. Treat it as an impersonation attempt, and please report it to us at service@decoysignal.com.
Our content
Our videos, scripts, graphics and written material are our property, except where they reproduce government publications or third-party material identified as such. You may share and link to our content freely. You may not republish it as your own, or use it commercially, without a license, see For institutions.
Material you send us
Sending us a scam example does not by itself give us permission to publish it. It gives us permission to look at it and to reply to you. Before anything is used we ask you separately, as two questions: whether we may show the redacted artifact on our own channels, and whether we may include it in material licensed to institutions. You may agree to either, both or neither.
When you do agree, you confirm that the material came to you and that you are not aware of anyone else's rights in it — a scam message you received, not something forwarded to you from a third party or copied from someone else's post. You keep whatever ownership you have. You will not be paid. You can withdraw permission at any time by emailing submit@decoysignal.com; within seven days we stop using it and remove it from this site and from videos on channels we control, but we cannot recall copies already delivered to a licensee or already downloaded by others. The full process, including what you should never send us, is on the submission page.
Third-party names and marks
We show the names and marks of real organizations when scammers impersonate them. Those marks belong to their owners. Their appearance identifies who is being impersonated and does not imply any association with, or endorsement by, that organization.
Affiliate links
We do not currently have any. If that changes, a paid link will say so beside the link itself, at the point we are recommending something, and not only here. A commission never buys a recommendation.
If you believe we have used your material
We publish scam messages, agency examples and material sent to us by the public, and we can get that wrong. If you own something you believe we have used without the right to, email service@decoysignal.com with enough detail to identify the material and where it appears, and how to reach you. We will look at it, tell you what we decide, and take it down where we should. You do not need a lawyer to write to us.
Links to other sites
We link to government agencies, banks and card issuers because that is where the real remedy lives. Those are other organizations' sites: we do not control them, their content can change, and their privacy practices are their own, not ours. We check the links we publish and we want to know when one breaks or goes somewhere unexpected — that is a correction, and we would rather hear it from you than not.
Limitation of liability
We work hard to be accurate, but we provide this site and our content "as is" and without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DecoySignal, LLC is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or our content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
